Microsoft Office applications presently run natively on Macs with the M1 chip

Microsoft is turning out new versions of its Office applications that work locally with Apple’s M1 chip, the force to be reckoned with of the new Macbook Air, Macbook Pro and Mac Mini. In particular, the applications getting a redesign are Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Microsoft says the projects will run quicker and exploit the exhibition support gave by the M1. These are Universal applications, and Macs with Intel processors should likewise run them fine.
